Volunteering for Hubb

If you would like to volunteer for Hubb and have/had or cared for someone with mental ill health we would like to meet you.

We were used to having paid members of staff but now we are totally self supporting and so need more volunteers to help us. We expect all of our volunteers to become members of Hubb and the membership form is below.

Our roles

Website promotor/video maker/facebook

Duties - To promote Hubb.org.uk to useful resources with link swaps, add the Hubb website to free directories, search engine submission. Create a Youtube video for Hubb and post it. Create a facebook page for Hubb. Any other promotion related projects.


Duties - To research people suitable for presenting talks to members, research for fundraising, other researching as required.

Committee Secretary

Duties - To attend committee meetings, take minutes, agendas, ad hoc secretarial duties. Word, excel, access, good communication skills

Admin assistant

Duties - To help the secretary, skills needed: email, word, powerpoint, excel, communication skills

Membership co-ordinator

Duties - To keep a database of members updated, communicate with members about their membership, and work out a system of annual paid for membership.

Drivers with own transport

Duties - To help Hubb with fundraising and escorting more frail members to meetings, 40p per mile expenses met

Catering assistant

Duties - Shopping and cooking of food for the monthly meetings, serving members refreshments on the night, clearing the tables etc.

Fundraising assistant

You will be working with one other fundraising person to network and suggest fund raising. All applications for funding to be kept on a database

Support worker

To assist the members with any concerns they may have at the monthly meetings. Ideally you are training to be a social worker or similar.

Any other duties

We are committed to helping people with their experience and if there are any other roles you would like to do. Contact us and we will see if we can fit you in.
